Growing Organic Lady Godiva Pumpkin in the Vegetable Garden
Direct-sow Organic Lady Godiva seeds 1 inch deep after all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed to at least 70 F. For a head start in a shorter season, start seeds indoors 3 to 4 weeks early. Space plants 24 to 36 inches apart, with rows 8 to 12 feet apart to give the sprawling vines room to ramble.

Keep soil consistently moist, especially during flowering and fruit set, and water at the base of the plant rather than overhead to help prevent powdery mildew. Fertilize with a balanced feed every few weeks once vines begin to flower and set fruit.
Harvesting Lady Godiva Pumpkin
Pumpkins are ready to harvest once the rind has hardened and the stem begins to dry and turn brown. Cut fruits from the vine, leaving a few inches of stem attached, then scoop out the seeds. Rinse the seeds well to remove pulp, spread them out to dry, and roast for a nutty, protein-rich snack.
