How to Grow Flower Bulbs, Bare Roots, Seed Potatoes & More
Growing Pink Giant Tiger Lilies
Plant bulbs 6 inches deep in rich, well-drained soil. Space 12-18 inches apart. Best in full sun to partial shade. Provide support in windy areas as plants grow tall. Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Lily bulbs may be planted in either the spring or fall seasons when the soil is workable, but not muddy.
It is normal for lily bulbs to appear with small cuts, scars, dimples, or discoloration. This is due to the harvesting and cleaning processes. Good bulbs should feel firm, and can sometimes have bulblets or offshoots already forming. While some bulbs may appear “prettier” than others, their firmness is the best way to know that they are good and viable.
Pink Giant Tiger Lilies in the Garden
With their tall height and recurved spotted blooms, Pink Giant tiger lilies add drama and elegance to borders and naturalized plantings. They return reliably each year in the right conditions.
Harvesting Pink Giant Tiger Lilies
Cut stems when buds are colored but not fully open to enjoy long-lasting flowers indoors. Always leave at least one-third of the stem and foliage to support next year’s growth.
About Tiger Lilies
