Growing Giant Imperial Mixture Larkspur Garden Seeds

Giant Imperial Mix larkspur is very adaptable, easy to grow from seed, and can either be sown indoors or out. For earliest blooms begin 8-10 weeks prior to the frost. Larkspur has a wildflower habit and may be sown by broadcasting directly after the frost. Blend Giant Imperial Mix larkspur seeds with sand to increase visibility during sowing and broadcast mix over a 10-square foot area, evenly rake, and lightly tamp into soil. Plants will easily reseed themselves and, once established, stick around in your garden for as long as you'll have them. For traditional sowing, plant 2-3 Giant Imperial Mix larkspur seeds ½" deep and 12" apart in Organically rich, evenly moist, and well-drained soil in full sun. Giant Imperial Mix larkspur is a hardy full sun performer but will benefit from shade during long summer months. Larkspur is notorious for easily reseeding and, in fact, may overrun some grow spaces. Deadhead spent blooms to prevent abundant reseeding. Larkspur has no serious pests or diseases but monitor regularly for aphids. Giant Imperial Mix larkspur seeds mature in 77-84 days as 36-48" shrubby uprights with a 12" spread of dense, robust flower spikes in shades of blue, violet, rose, red, lavender, salmon, pink and white.
