Growing Osaka Series Flowering Cabbage Garden Seeds

Osaka Series flowering cabbage is a frost-hardy green that can be sown directly in either the spring or the fall. For earliest spring blooms, begin indoors 6-8 weeks prior to the frost. Flowering cabbage can be quick to germinate between 5-14 days in full lighting. Plant 2-3 Osaka Series flowering cabbage seeds ¼" and 12" apart in loamy, Organically rich, and well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Osaka Series flowering cabbage is a hardy spring and winter performer and will benefit from shade during long summer months. Plants can tolerate heavy moisture, but still susceptible to fungi, root rot, and leaf spots if not properly drained or ventilated. Flowering cabbage has no serious diseases or insects but monitor regularly for aphids, flea beetles, and cabbageworms. Osaka Series flowering cabbage seeds mature in 91-98 days as tight 11-12" tall "headed" cabbage mounds with a 12" spread of dense and finely ruffled edges in a signature choice of Pink, Red, White, and Mix.
