35-45 days to maturity.Coriandrum sativum. Leisure Cilantro Seeds. Annual. Heirloom. Non-GMO. Organic. This Leisure Cilantro is popularly utilized as a microgreen and is commonly used in Asian cuisine. The leaves, stems, and seeds are all edible. Cilantro is an essential ingredient in many dishes and can be used as a garnish on nearly any plate. This variety is slow to bolt and an excellent pick for any herb garden.
Direct sow in the spring through the late summer. Re-seed every two to three weeks for continuous harvest. Slow to bolt. This variety is great for milder climates. Cilantro will go to seed quickly in hot weather conditions. Seed in fertile, well-drained soil. Keep the soil moist and be sure to not over-water. If you desire the plant to grow after being harvested, cut the top 1/3 or so of leaves and allow them to grow back.
Harvesting Leisure Cilantro
Cilantro is able to be harvested as soon as the leaves appear. This variety should be ready for harvest after just a few weeks and are good to go until flowering begins. Immature seeds are sweet and fresh and mature seeds are produced three months after planting and should be harvested when dry on the vine.
The culinary uses of cilantro are varied. It can be used as a garnish on almost any plate. Consider adding fresh cilantro to your Bloody Mary mix. It is an essential ingredient in salsa’s and many Mexican and Asian dishes. Cilantro is high in nutritional value and flavor, will compliment meat, fish and poultry, noodles and soups.
