Growing White Stem Pak Choi Microgreen Seeds

Prepare a hydrated growing medium. White Stem Pak Choi may be grown with soil or hydroponically. We recommend nestling a 1020 tray with holes inside one without holes for easy bottom watering. Spread about 20 g to 1 oz of seed over your growing medium. Cover or stack another tray on top. We advise not stacking more than 4 prepared trays together. Additional weight may be placed on top of your stack to encourage stronger stems and better germination. The weight helps the seedlings to shed their seed coat and drive the radicals down into the soil. Germination should take place within 2-3 days. At this point, remove the cover and weight.

Either cover with an upside-down tray or a blackout dome for an additional 2-3 days to help drive upward growth as the seedlings search for light. The tops will appear yellow due to the lack of light. We recommend adding water with additional nutrients to help drive strong leafy growth. Peak harvest time should be around day 10. Running a fan near your growing area can help with good air circulation for preventing mold. Treat mold spots early by spraying a mixture water (1 liter) and hydrogen peroxide (2 Tablespoons). Harvest with a sharp knife or scissors.
