Growing Non-GMO Splendor Mix Brachycome Flower Seeds
Plant seeds outdoors directly into the prepared garden soil. Do not plant outside until after the danger of frost has passed. Water in the seeds with a mister. Optionally, begin the seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the frost date. When the seedlings have two true leaves, harden off and then transplant outdoors according to the spacing guidelines provided. For continuous blooms all summer, sow multiple batches 2-4 weeks apart. Seeds may also be sown in mid-summer for quick blooming for fall.
Blooming can be expected in the first growing season, about 6-8 weeks after germination. Plant in a sunny location, but it will require some shade in the excessive summer heat. They even grow freely in rocky and disturbed areas. If you wish to inhibit spreading, remove the flower stalks after flowering to limit seed production. Splendor Mix Brachycome has low to moderate water requirements and does best with division every 2-3 years. Fertilization is usually not necessary unless it is suffering from a lack of nutrients. Cut back the plant when the blooms are dying off, and it may reward you with an extra flush of blooms before the season ends! This is also a great way to keep the plant shaped favorably.

em>Brachyscome iberidifolia is native to southern and western Australia and even found in parts of New Zealand. The genus is often both known as Brachyscome and Brachycome, which came about due to a mistranslation of Greek when classifying the plant’s taxonomic name. The species iberidifolia literally translates to "similar to iberis."
Splendor Mix Brachycome can also be known as Swan River Daisy or Brachyscome.
Brachycome plants are non–toxic to both humans and animals. However, individual allergies can occur, and it is advised to check with a healthcare provider before consuming any new plants.
Tips From Our Gardeners
"Brachycome reminds me a lot of Cosmos because of the foliage, stem, and flower patterns. They are a great option if you like the look of Cosmos but have historically struggled to grow them."
