Growing Splendor Mix Brachycome Garden Seeds

Splendor Mix brachycome seeds may be sown directly in the garden after the frost but, for earliest blooms, begin indoors 6-8 weeks prior and then transplant to a sunny place either indoors or out. Brachycome seeds will germinate in 7-21 days with full lighting. Seeds may also be sown in mid-summer for quick blooming for fall. Lightly press without covering 3-4 Splendor Mix seeds every 18 inches in Organically rich, evenly moist, and well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Splendor Mix brachycome seeds are vigorous garden performers with no serious pests or diseases. Watch for slugs and snails on outdoor plants and aphids and spider mites on indoor varieties. Brachycome thrives in warmer gardens and known to tolerate some dry and poor soils, but will require some shade in excessive summer heat. Splendor Mix brachycome seeds mature in 70-84 days as 10-12 inch tall shrubby uprights with a 12-18 inch spread of 1 inch daisy-like blooms.

Brachyscome iberidifolia is native to southern and western Australia and even found in parts of New Zealand. The genus is often both known as Brachyscome and Brachycome, which came about due to a mistranslation of Greek when classifying the plant's taxonomical name. The species iberidifolia literally translates to "similar to iberis."
