Growing Non-GMO Sweet Pea Bijou Mix Flower Seeds
Soaking the seeds overnight in water can boost germination times. Sow these seeds directly into the soil and they will be growing all summer long. The best time to plant for most climates is early in the spring, as soon as the ground is workable; this may mean late winter for some growing zones. It is crucial to get these seeds out as early as possible. Don’t wait for the last frost to pass. Loosen up the soil before planting and optionally add in compost to ensure maximum soil fertility and organic matter content.
This dwarf variety doesn’t require it, but a trellis or similar structure can be inserted nearby to give height, air circulation, and definition during growth. Quickly remove any dead or spent blooms; this will encourage more flowering throughout the summer. In growing zones above 8, you can also plant these in the fall for winter blooms. Add mature compost or fertilizer a few times throughout the season.
