Growing Non-GMO Larkspur Giant Imperial Mixture Flower Seeds
Giant Imperial Mix larkspur is very adaptable, easy to grow from seed, and can either be sown indoors or out. For earliest blooms begin 8-10 weeks prior to the frost. Larkspur has a wildflower habit and may be sown by broadcasting directly after the frost. Blend Giant Imperial Mix larkspur seeds with sand to increase visibility during sowing and broadcast mix over a 10-square foot area, evenly rake, and lightly tamp into soil. Plants will easily reseed themselves and, once established, stick around in your garden for as long as you'll have them.
Giant Imperial Mix larkspur is a hardy full sun performer but will benefit from shade during long summer months. Larkspur is notorious for easily reseeding and, in fact, may overrun some grow spaces. Deadhead spent blooms to prevent abundant reseeding.

About Larkspur Giant Imperial Mixture Garden Seeds
Larkspurs are widely loved for their beauty but also their symbolism. They symbolize a beautiful spirit, strong bonds of love as well as speed. Gift these seeds or starts to those who may need that message.
Use Larkspur in fresh-cut arrangements as a focal point, adding height, texture, and bulk to the grouping.
The genus Larkspur shares the title "larkspur" with the flowering genus Delphinium and is also widely known to be toxic to humans, pets, and livestock. Consolida ambigua contains a highly toxic methyllycaconitine alkaloid and is considered very poisonous and harmful if ingested. Those with sensitive skin have also been known to develop dermatitis from excessive handling as well.
Consolida ambigua, or more commonly known as Larkspur, is a member of the Ranunculaceae family and native to cool and temperate regions throughout Europe and Western Asia, but has naturalized throughout most of the world in similar climates.
Stories From Our Gardeners
"If you’re wondering what the big differences are between Consolida and Delphinium, which can both be called larkspur, it really comes down to how they grow. Consolida grows readily and without much persuasion. Yet, the flowers look incredibly similar for many varieties!"
