Sweetest Corn Collection
This collection also comes with the 33-page book "Grow The Best Corn". Which covers an array of topics: Kinds of corn to grow, Soil for corn, Planting, Pollination, Care, Troubleshooting, Harvesting, saving seed, Storage and pest. Stagger your planting times by a few weeks (plant a variety every 2 weeks) to get a continuous and delectably sweet harvest.
1. Ambrosia Hybrid (se)
Ambrosia Hybrid is a Sugary Enhanced (se) variety of corn that perfectly melds both white and yellow kernels together into one delicious bite. Ambrosia Hybrid is a first generation hybrid grown to feature both yellow and white kernels with plenty of sweetness, ideal for grilling, canning, or freezing. Matures in about 79-84 days as 7-8 foot tall stalks and produces 7-8" ears with 12-14 rows per ear. Be sure to only plant Ambrosia Hybrid nearby other (su) varieties of corn to keep the varieties from cross-pollinating and spoiling each others' flavor.
2. Bodacious RM Sweet Hybrid (se)
Arguably the hardiest variety featured in the Sweetest Corn Collection, the Bodacious RM hybrid has been bred for both superior flavor and seasonal tolerance to some of the most widespread diseases. Bodacious RM is ready to harvest at about 75 days from planting, delivering 8" long golden yellow ears that have been specifically tailored for their unparalleled sweetness. Although corn is one of the most tenacious crops in the garden, Bodacious RM is tolerant to common rust (R) and Mosaic virus (M) known to threaten many different types of corn, regardless of sweetness. Bodacious RM is Sugary Enhanced (se) and should only be grown with other (se) crops so as to not cross-pollinate.
3. Peaches and Cream Sweet Hybrid (se)
Similar to Honey and Cream F1, Peaches and Cream is also a hybrid grown to feature the best of both yellow and white varieties in a single ear of corn. However, unlike the Honey and Cream, Peaches and Cream is a Sugary Enhanced (se) variety, meaning that it is specifically grown and bred for the robust sugar content not found in standard (su) corn crops. Peaches and Cream sweet corn matures at about 70 days and their ears are known to remain fresh on the stalk for 9-12 days after fully maturing. Always plant Sugary Enhanced (su) seeds with other Sugary Enhanced (su) seeds to prevent cross-pollination.
4. Kandy Korn Hybrid (se)
Golden and delicious ears that mature as early as 85 days, the Kandy Korn Hybrid is truly one of the best-tasting treasures to spring from the summer garden. Kandy Korn is a Sugary Enhanced (se) crop that reliably produces 8" ears lined with 16-20 rows, brimming from 8-foot tall burgundy stalks. As a Sugary Enhanced (se) variety, the Kandy Korn hybrid is the result of crossing the best and sweetest yellow cultivars, producing the golden buttery yellow Kandy Korn ears that are the closest thing to candy you're gonna harvest from the garden. Be sure to only plant Kandy Korn (se) with other Sugary Enhanced (se) types.
