Growing Non-GMO Sensation Mixture Cosmos Flower Seeds
Sensation Mix cosmos seeds are popularly sown outdoors directly after the frost. But for earliest spring blooms, begin seeds indoors 4-6 weeks prior and harden off to a sunny place in the garden or decorative planter. Sensation Mix cosmos is just as popular indoors as out. Germination will take 2-3 weeks in full lighting. Germinate them in a warm area (at least 60 F soil temperature) and not buried too deep. Harden off the seedlings gradually and be sure the danger of frost has passed before planting them outdoors. Expect to see blooms in 5-7 weeks that last all summer!
Deadhead blooms regularly to encourage more flower development and an attractive branching habit. Sensation Mix cosmos is a hardy full sun performer known to be low-maintenance and tolerant to heat and drought. Do not overwater because the cosmos will suffer in overly saturated and poorly drained gardens. Plants may reseed for the next season but may do so too aggressively to the point where it becomes invasive. Once established, these plants require little supplemental water except in drought conditions. Until they fully establish, they will benefit from regular irrigations that slowly taper off. Avoid fertilizer.

About Sensation Mixture Cosmos Garden Seeds
Although Cosmos bipinnatus are not considered edible, they are also not considered toxic in any way. They won’t be problematic for children or pets who may accidentally ingest them.
Cosmos bipinnatus, more commonly known as Cosmos, is native to the arid and warm climates of Mexico but has since been naturalized throughout most of the world's similar climates. Cosmos bipinnatus grows so effortlessly in the United States that it is considered an invasive species in several counties from California, Utah, and New Mexico and up and down the Atlantic and Great Lakes states.
Sensation Mixture Cosmos plants have 2” wide blooms that will keep popping up all season and eagerly draw in a host of pollinators.
