Growing Warrior AAS Bunching Onions in the Vegetable Garden
Warrior AAS Bunching Onions can be direct sown outdoors or started indoors for earlier harvests. Sow seeds 0.25 inch deep in full sun and thin seedlings to 2-3 inches apart in rows about 12-18 inches apart. For a steady supply of green onions, sow successively every 2-3 weeks during the cool growing season.
Grow Warrior in fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture for the most tender, uniform stalks. Keep the bed weed-free while plants are young, and mulch lightly to help retain moisture. This variety performs well in garden plots, raised beds, and containers, and it holds in the garden longer than many comparable bunching onions, giving growers a wider harvest window.
Harvesting Warrior AAS Bunching Onions
Harvest Warrior when the stalks are slender, crisp, and well-sized for green onion use, usually around 60 days from direct sowing or earlier from transplants. Pull whole plants for full-sized scallions, or harvest selectively as needed. Wash soil from the white shanks and trim the tops if desired.
About Warrior AAS Bunching Onion Garden Seeds
Warrior was recognized as a 2016 All-America Selections Regional Winner for its strong performance, early maturity, and uniform stalk quality.
Warrior is valued for its crisp texture, easy cleaning, and ability to stay harvestable in the garden longer than many standard bunching onion varieties.
Tips From Our Gardeners
"Warrior is a great choice when you want a dependable green onion with a long picking window. Sow a short row every couple of weeks and harvest young for mild flavor, or let the stems size up for a more substantial bunching onion."
