Growing Italian Giant Parsley in the Herb Garden
Start Italian Giant parsley indoors about 2–3 weeks before the last frost in 1-inch cells, sowing seeds about 0.25 inch deep, or sow directly outdoors after frost danger passes. Space seedlings 8–12 inches apart in rows 12–18 inches apart.
Keep soil moist and fertile—amend with compost. Mulch to conserve moisture and suppress weeds. Water regularly (containers may need daily watering in heat), feed once or twice with compost or a balanced fertilizer, and harvest outer leaves to encourage continual growth.
Harvesting of Italian Giant Parsley
Begin harvesting when plants reach around 8 inches tall, typically 75–90 days after sowing. Snip outer stems at the base, leaving inner growth to continue. Italian Giant is excellent for fresh cut culinary use and maintains a lush appearance when regularly trimmed.

Stories From Our Gardeners
“I love that Italian Giant parsley keeps growing even after you start snipping—it’s like a never-ending garnish supply. Plus, sometimes we just let a few stalks flower and watch swallowtail caterpillars munch away—instant nature show!”
