2-3 Days to Harvest. Triticum spelta. Organic Spelt Sprouting Seeds. Organic. Non-GMO. Sprouting. High Germination. Spelt is hardy, easy to sprout and grow, and very nutritious. It has a sweet, fresh flavor and aroma. Spelt grain contains a broader spectrum of nutrients than regular wheat. It is often referred to as the more nutritious cousin to wheat. It does contain gluten but seems to cause less sensitivity in some people who are intolerant to wheat. Bulk and wholesale sizes are available for purchase. All sizes come in resealable packaging. About 700 seeds / oz.
Using either a seed sprouting jar, sprouting tray, or hemp sprout bag, add about 1/3rd cup organic hulless barley sprout seeds to a container and soak for 6-12 hours. After the initial soak, add them to your container of choice.
Jar or bag: Add to a sprouting jar or bag and rinse 2-3x per day.
Tray: Spread onto a thin layer in a sprouting tray. Rinse or add water 2x per day, or follow sprouting tray instructions.
Harvest in 2-3 days or as desired. They can be ready for soups or additional cooking in less than 2 days. Grain sprouts are best used just as the root is starting. Half an inch or less is good. This is before any significant shoot development or chlorophyll (green color) is present. Alternatively, grow as microgreen to the “grass” stage for juicing.
