About Angelica Garden Seeds
Considered one of the major medicinal plants by ancient scholars, it is still well known and used in much of Europe, both for the medicinal uses and for its fragrance and flavor. Its root and leaves were used as anti-inflammatory, diaphoretic, and diuretic remedies. Overall, it is a strong but delicate flavor used in liqueurs like vermouth, Chartreuse, and gin, as well as in culinary applications.
Stories From Our Gardeners
"An ancient herb the latin name references a legend about a monk that saw an angel in a dream that showed him a plant that could cure the plague. The monk named the plant angelica in the angel's honer. In medieval times, angelica was believed to be protected by Archangel Michael, and was considered a powerful defense against evil spirits, witches' spells. Just for fun, why not grow some near the house - a little extra protection couldn’t hurt!”
