Peppers by Heat Level:
Full Scoville Heat Scale
Find a wide range of peppers at True Leaf Market, from sweet to extremely hot,
based on their typical Scoville scale rating. Sweet peppers
(Example: Bell Peppers) have no heat at all and register 0 (or below 100) on the scale. Mild peppers (Example: Pepperoncini) typically range from 100
to 2,500. Medium peppers (Example: Jalapenos) range from
2,500 to 30,000 Scoville units. Hot peppers (Example: Cayenne or
Tabasco) range from 30,000 to 100,000 on the Scoville scale. Extra hot peppers (Example: Most Habaneros) range from
100,000 to 300,000 on the scale. Extremely Hot Peppers
(Example: Ghost Pepper) will knock your block off at 300,000 to well over 1,000,000 on the Scoville Scale.
You can also find Ornamental peppers, which are all over the map on the Scoville Scale, but are frequently
grown for heir aesthetic properties.
