Growing Non-GMO Mediterranean XP Series Vinca Flower Seeds
Since Mediterranean XP vinca seeds are slow to reach full maturity, sow indoors 10-12 weeks before the final frost date. Sow seeds on the soil's surface. Mediterranean XP vinca seeds also take 10-21 days to germinate and require complete darkness. Once germinated, move Mediterranean XP seeds to a sunny windowsill or fluorescent grow light until four true leaves have developed. Transplant Mediterranean XP seedlings into your favorite decorative indoor container or basket, and harden off if transplanting outside. Transplant Mediterranean XP vinca seeds outside into average, loamy, and well-drained soil at least 8 inches apart in full sun.
Mediterranean XP Vinca, once established, can withstand many hot and drought-prone climates. Vinca can also be directly sown outdoors after the final frost, but this is only recommended for areas with very long growing seasons, as the plant may not flower if not given enough time.
Mediterranean XP Series Vinca will thrive in the sun, provided they are deadheaded as they decline during the long summer months. Mediterranean XP Series Vinca is a short 4-6 inches tall variety that spreads.  When transplanting seedlings from indoors to outside, acclimate them slowly to their new environment. Place them outside for a few hours a day and gradually increase the duration until they are ready to transplant. This process helps plants develop a “thicker skin” capable of withstanding harsher outdoor conditions after being protected indoors. It is important to deadhead the flowers regularly and provide the plants with adequate water and nutrients to encourage healthy growth and plentiful blooms.
Mediterranean XP Series Vinca in the Flower Garden
This variety of Vinca was selected for its trailing habit, ideal for planters and hanging baskets. The bright colors will attract plenty of pollinators. While it is a short variety, it can be expected to trail 20-30 inches.
Landscaping With Mediterranean XP Series Vinca
Mediterranean XP Series Vinca is great in patio planters. They also love to be in sunny window boxes and similar locations. Vinca boasts deer and rabbit resistance as well as tolerance to rocky and dry soils. Do not confuse Mediterranean XP Catharanthus with the shade-tolerant groundcover Vinca minor (or Vinca major).
About Mediterranean XP Series Vinca Garden Seeds

This is the only type of trailing vinca with a true red bloom available.
Tips From Our Gardeners
"I love recommending vinca for window boxes. They have low water needs and look stunning when trailing over the side of the planter!"
