Growing Non-GMO Sonnet Series Snapdragon Flower Seeds
Snapdragon seeds require a cold period, called stratification, to germinate, so the seeds must be exposed to cool temperatures for a while before planting. However, with a little patience and attention to detail, it is possible to easily grow Snapdragons from seed. Freeze seeds for 48 hours before sowing. Plant indoors 6-8 weeks before the final frost date. Do not cover Sonnet Series seeds during germination, full light will help seeds germinate in 8-14 days. Transplant once there are at least two true sets of leaves into your choice of a sunny indoor or outdoor spot. In warm climates, sow in late summer for fall, winter, and spring blooms.
Sonnet Series snapdragons are one of the more versatile varieties of snapdragon and are hardy, vigorous growers in cool, moderate summers with no serious threat from pests or disease. When starting indoors, place them beneath fluorescent grow lights for 16 hours per day, with 8 hours of darkness. Avoid overhead irrigations to minimize wetting foliage. They will produce blooms throughout the season.
When transplanting seedlings indoors to outdoors, it is important to acclimatize them slowly to their new environment; Put them outside for a few hours a day and gradually increase the duration until they are hardy enough to transplant. It is important to deadhead the flowers regularly and provide the plants with adequate water and nutrients to promote healthy growth and numerous blooms.

About Sonnet Series Snapdragon Garden Seeds
Antirrhinum majus is known for its fragrant and unique blooms. They attract pollinators such as butterflies and bees. Yet, they are known to be deer resistant.
To obtain a bushier habit, pinch off the top three inches of the young plants, before they bloom. Deadheading throughout the season keeps them looking sharp. If flowering declines after the first flush, cut back by a third and fertilize with a balanced feed.
Snapdragons can withstand short periods of light frost. They are short-lived perennials in zones 7 and warmer, but are most commonly grown as annuals in almost all zones. They will delight your garden with a long blooming season, lasting from early spring to late fall.
Antirrhinum majus is native to the cool and temperate Mediterranean including regions of Morocco, Portugal, southern France, and east into Turkey and Syria. Snapdragon earned its title because of the reaction the stalks have when harvesting blooms, which causes the "mouth" of the flower to open like a dragon and then close.
