The Casaba melon seeds will do best when planted outdoors two weeks after the last frost of the season. If you would like to start growing indoors, you can sow the seeds six weeks before you expect to transplant outside. When sowing or planting outdoors, place the seeds one inch deep in a warm soil with a pH level between six and seven. Leave two feet between the plants, and six feet between rows. While growing, keep the soil moist by regularly watering. Water the roots at ground level, as watering overhead can cause mildew to produce. At 110 days, harvest the melons by cutting them off the vine.
