Corsican Gourd Growth Habits:

Corsican Gourds grow 18-24" tall with long vines. Sow seeds indoors for transplant or directly outdoors. Space hills 6" apart in full sun in the spring. After 110-130 days, gourds are ready for harvest, and they can either be harvested green or left to continue to dry. These gourds are heavy feeders that require a lot of nitrogen.

Various Uses for Corsican Gourd:

Once these gourds are cured, they can be used for a myriad of decorative purposes. Paint the outer shell of the gourd. Corsican Gourd's outer skin is so flat. It takes paint well. It can be drilled and used as a vessel. This gourd makes a perfect bowl.

Corsican Gourds have many benefits in the garden. Plant them near many of your favorite plants. Some common plants that gourds can benefit from are marigolds, radishes, dill, catnip, broccoli, and tansy. Steer clear of potatoes, since Corsican Gourds are such heavy feeders, they will always compete for nutrients.
