Growing Non-GMO Maritima Series Sea Thrift Flower Seeds
Maritima Series Armeria is a full sun performer and commonly sown directly outdoors after the frost. For earliest blooms, begin seeds indoors 6-8 weeks prior. Armeria seeds are known to take as long as 21-28 days to germinate, with no lighting necessary. Transplant seedlings to a sunny place indoors or in the garden. Maritima Series Armeria is native to heavily salted and dry ocean coasts and thrives where few other plants can.
Do not fertilize Armeria. It thrives in infertile soils that are sandy or rocky. Sea Thrift can tolerate partial shade. Deadheading will encourage a second wave of flowers. Divide every few years if plants look sparse in the centers and start to decline. Armeria is a little tricky to get germinated, but once established it is virtually hands-off and very easy to grow.
