Growing Organic Waltham Butternut Winter Squash in the Vegetable Garden
Sow seeds 1 inch deep outdoors after frost when soil is warm, or start indoors 3 to 4 weeks early in biodegradable pots to minimize transplant shock. Space plants 36 to 48 inches apart with 60 to 72 inches between rows to allow vigorous vines to run and for good airflow.
