Growing Non-GMO Statice QIS Series Flower Seeds
QIS Series statice seeds may be sown directly outside immediately after final frost or, for early blooming, start indoors 6-8 weeks prior to last frost. QIS Series seeds will germinate in 10-21 days, with complete darkness. Lightly cover 3-4 QIS Series Statice seeds in the soil every 10-12 inches in moist, loamy, and well-drained soil in full sun. QIS Series statice will often struggle in hot, humid, or soggy conditions and does not like to be disturbed once established. Plants are fairly drought tolerant. Properly ventilate and avoid overhead watering to minimize moisture and wetting foliage.
QIS Series Statice has no special cultural needs and is incredibly easy to care for once established. Avoid disturbing the roots during and ever after the initial transplantation. There is little need to fertilize, although applying a light feed (or some well-rotted compost) in the spring can give it a nice boost. Pinch off the top few inches of the young plants if they start to look spindly. This will encourage more of a bushy habit. Deadhead blooms promptly. While it is possible to overwinter Statice in climates above zone 8, many gardeners say it’s not worth the hassle.

About Statice QIS Series Garden Seeds
Despite the bushy habit, Statice makes excellent cut flowers that bring dramatic colors and styles to any arrangement. Due to the papery texture of the stems and leaves, they retain their color very well in fresh and everlasting scenarios. To harvest as a cut flower, snip off the bloom as far down the stem as possible and then store it in cold water to prolong its life or hang it upside down to dry. Change out the water every one to two days for indoor color lasting 1-2 weeks.
Limonium sinuatum can also be known as Sea Lavender, Sea Pink, Wavyleaf Sea Lavender, and Notch Leaf Marsh Rosemary.
Limonium sinuatum is native to the cool, temperate regions surrounding the Mediterranean including Spain, northern Africa, Canary Islands, and Palestine.
Statice plants are also deer resistant, making them perfect for all those gardens that frequently battle the forest friends’ appetites.
All parts of this plant are considered nontoxic to humans and animals. However, it is also not considered edible. Individual sensitivities and allergies can occur. Contact a doctor or veterinarian with questions.
