range. From winter vegetables to indoor sprouts and microgreens, there is something for everyone to plant this
month!
Zones 1-7a: These zones experience cold winter weather known to reach freezing temperatures over
an extended period of time. During the month of November, it is best to limit direct sowing to woody perennials
and wildflower seeds that will sprout in the spring months. Indoor sowing of microgreens, sprouts, and herbs is
a great way to continue gathering a fresh harvest though!
Zones 7b-9a: These zones experience mild winter weather, allowing for some crops to be directly
sown outdoors, including leafy greens, herbs, bunching onions, radishes, cover crops, poppies, sweet peas,
calendula, among others. Don't forget to also grow some sprouts and microgreens indoors!
Zones 19b-12: The warm winter, frost-free zones of 9-12 really thrive during November. This
month is great for planting vegetables, cover crops, flowers, and herbs outdoors.
